Interview with Sanja Božović, Sales representatives for South-East Europe at Sanlorenzo Adria

Miodrag Spahić from The Collection, had the pleasure to catch up with Sanja Božović, Sales representatives for South-East Europe at Sanlorenzo Adria, to talk about future plans and yacht industry in general.Q. The Collection Magazine: Could you provide some details about Sanlorenzo Adria and its office locations in the Adriatic region? Additionally, does the company participate in any major yacht shows or events in this area?

A. Sanja Božović: Sanlorenzo Adria is the exclusive representative for Sanlorenzo Yachts in several countries with close ties to the Adriatic Sea, through offices in Zagreb, Sukošan, Rovinj and our newest addition, Porto Montenegro. We also have privileged partners in Šibenik and Split. Each location is a testament to our commitment to bring the Sanlorenzo experience closer to our clientele.

Our presence is inevitable at every major boat show in the region. In October, we will attend the Biograd Boat Show, Croatia Yacht Show in Zadar and most likely Split Yacht Show. These exhibitions and events serve as our platform to engage, unite, and uplift our local nautical community. However, our core events include the Cannes Yachting Festival, Monaco Boat Show, Boot Dusseldorf, and Genoa Boat Show, where we are consistently present on the Sanlorenzo stand every year where different models are exhibited.

Q. What distinguishes Sanlorenzo from other yacht brands? Why should customers choose Sanlorenzo?

A. Sanlorenzo is always striving to deliver only the highest quality services to the boat owners. Our dedicated team of professionals works tirelessly to uphold the exceptional standards associated with the Sanlorenzo brand. Whether it’s through personalized consultations, yacht customizations, or after-sales support, we prioritize every detail to enhance the yachting experience for our clients.

We are continuously expanding our knowledge and capabilities, ensuring that we can meet and exceed the evolving expectations of the yacht enthusiasts we serve.

Q. Sanlorenzo yachts are known for their high price tags. What factors contribute to their premium pricing?

A. In the echelons of luxury yachting, Sanlorenzo distinguishes itself through commitment to quality and customization. Each yacht in portfolio – be it from the SL, SX, SD, or SP lines – is a testament to superior construction and sea-worthiness. They offer an expansive range of customizations, honoring the unique tastes and requirements of our clients. More than just a yacht, a Sanlorenzo is a statement, a lifestyle, a testament to the power of the brand, which also justifies the price tag. In addition to these primary factors, Sanlorenzo places a significant emphasis on the aesthetic appeal and interior design of their yachts. Another critical aspect contributing to the high cost is the advanced technology and innovative features integrated into Sanlorenzo yachts. From state-of-the-art navigation systems to cutting-edge entertainment setups, these yachts are equipped with the latest advancements to enhance comfort, safety, and enjoyment on the water. Another point to consider is the resale value of Sanlorenzo yachts.

Q. Is it true that ordering a new Sanlorenzo yacht now means waiting three years for delivery?

A. Delivery times may vary for each model, depending on availability. For popular models and customizations, it is not uncommon for there to be a significant wait time, sometimes extending to two years or more. High levels of customization usually result in longer delivery times. However, in some cases, the waiting time is around one year. It also depends if the yacht is GRP or Super yacht Division from 45 meter on.

When considering the purchase of a Sanlorenzo yacht, it is advisable to consult directly with an authorized dealer like us to get the most accurate and current information regarding availability and delivery timelines.

Q. With more than 130 yachts currently under construction, which Sanlorenzo model is your best-seller?

A.The best-selling model depends on the size category: for yachts under 24m, the top-seller is the SX88. For yachts above 24m, the SD118 leads in sales.

Q. Sanlorenzo is renowned for its excellence and innovation in the luxury yacht industry. What motivated you to represent this prestigious brand in the Adriatic region, and what unique qualities does it offer compared to others in the market?

A. Representing Sanlorenzo in the Adriatic region is a natural fit for me, given the brand’s dedication to heritage, innovation, and personalized luxury. Sanlorenzo’s yachts are not just vessels; they are unique masterpieces that offer an extraordinary yachting experience. Sanlorenzo has been a prominent Italian shipbuilder since 1958. When a customer selects Sanlorenzo, they opt for legacy, tradition, exclusivity, quality, sustainability, and a level of customization that is unparalleled in the 25-40 meters yacht category. The Adriatic region, with its rich maritime history and stunning coastlines, provides an ideal backdrop for the craftsmanship of Sanlorenzo yachts. Representing Sanlorenzo here not only aligns with the brand’s ethos of blending tradition and innovation but also offers clients the opportunity to explore the Mediterranean hidden gems aboard a vessel that embodies luxury and sophistication.

Q. Could you share some background about your company’s history in the nautical sector and what inspired you to establish the business in Montenegro?

A. My personal background has played a significant role in shaping where I am today, particularly in my initial exploration of the nautical industry. It all started with my involvement in my brother’s company, managing a fleet of 14 boats. However, truth be told, that was a role I wouldn’t revisit; it felt more suited for a “man” (smiling). Renting bareboat sailing vessels didn’t fulfill me professionally. Instead, I found myself drawn to the world of luxury yachting, where a dedicated crew attends to guests during their yachting vacations. This pivotal moment led me to redefine Montenegro Charter, transforming it into the leading yacht charter company in Montenegro. Today, we specialize in high-end yacht charters and private jet services throughout the Mediterranean and beyond. The decision to establish my business here was driven by the region’s untapped potential and its rapid development as a premier yachting destination. Montenegro’s natural beauty, combined with its favorable climate and strategic location is perfect for any nautical activity.

A. As a woman working in the yachting business and sales, my experience has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. The yachting industry is traditionally male-dominated, but I have found that my unique perspective and approach have been invaluable in connecting with clients and understanding their needs. My journey began with a deep passion for the sea and a fascination with luxury travel, which led me to pursue a career in this dynamic field. In the end, liking people helps as well, because this business is customer oriented. Ultimately, having a genuine liking for people is beneficial, especially since this business focuses on customer satisfaction. Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, each with their own vision of the perfect yachting experience. This has allowed me to hone my skills in personalizing and tailoring services to meet and exceed their expectations. Building strong relationships and trust with clients is a must for me, and I believe my attention to detail and commitment to excellence have been key factors in my success.
