Montenegro’s most irresistible new destination has enjoyed a wildly successful year as the place to live, work, relax and recharge. Luštica Bay’s coastal climate, outdoor lifestyle and feel-good adventures add up to a fulfilling way of life. Wellbeing is a key priority, with a splash of excitement from exhilarating adventures along the coast – and beyond.

Enjoy a winter escape here and explore all Montenegro has to offer. You can ski in the morning and come back to the sunny coast for sailing on the same day! Discover Montenegro’s serene national parks, historic fortresses, charming old towns, and its four UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

It’s no wonder people from around the world are choosing to visit (and even move here). Embrace the best of the Mediterranean lifestyle, from sailing regattas to al fresco opera, bonfires and BBQs on the beach, and delightful waterfront restaurants for sunset dinners or cocktails with new friends.

WONDROUS WINTER ESCAPES

Discover for yourself why Luštica Bay is perfect for a winter getaway. Firstly, the cinematic sea views soothe the soul like no metropolis can. The ever-changing light creates mesmerising vistas, in bright sunshine and even on cloudy days. Then the peaceful lifestyle resets your internal clock – and your psyche – with leisurely lunches on the terrace, a wine tasting in the waterfront bistro, dinner in a marina-side restaurant, or a spa treatment at the five-star The Chedi Luštica Bay. And finally, the great outdoors will refresh your spirit, from coastal walks and hillside hikes to bicycle tours or a pleasant tour of a local orchard or olive grove.

It’s a breeze to find the perfect holiday rental, from a plush studio to a three-bedroom residence with a sweeping balcony and spectacular sea views. Residents (and renters) receive hotel-style services, tailored amenities and discounts up to 25% at the waterfront shops and restaurants. Winter offers start from just 140€ per night in Marina Village, and 110€ per night in Centrale. Relocate for a week – or all season.

You have been warned: After a first visit to Luštica Bay, many decide to visit again, buy a summer home, or even relocate for good, for dramatically better work-life balance and quality of life.

THE PIAZZA CENTRALE: CUISINE & COMMUNITY

The Piazza Centrale burst onto the scene this spring and instantly became a beloved meeting place, thanks to vibrant eateries and pop-up ART events. Guests and new residents have flocked to the piazza for superb coffee and breakfasts, delightful international cuisine, fine beers, wines and plenty of outdoor activities, from live music and lush green parks to outdoor chess matches.

People come together at this cultural crossroads for fun, friendship, dining, and shopping, including a weekly organic produce market. They also gather for sports matches and tournaments, with courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis and padel. And there’s so much more to come.

UNIQUE ADVENTURES

There’s plenty to see and do in Luštica Bay and along the dramatic coastline. The Natural and Culture-Historical Region of Kotor (one of these sites and the country’s top attraction) is right on our doorstep. Sail into Boka Bay for unforgettable views of the vast blue waters and charming waterfront towns with a backdrop of spectacular mountains. Stroll through Kotor (Montenegro’s ‘Little Venice’), one of the most beautiful places in Eastern Europe, with its historic architecture, ancient military fortifications (don’t miss the views from the top of Kotor Fortress), cathedral, and winding cobbled streets with secluded piazzas.

You’ll see the Venetian influence everywhere – but without noisy crowds and tourist traps. Instead, enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and genuinely friendly chats with locals, who are more than happy to recommend local artisan shops and traditional delicacies. The town of Perast (‘The Pearl of Venetian Baroque’) is also worth a visit, from its beautiful waterfront promenade, churches and grand palaces.

Another memorable experience is a visit to a local vineyard to taste the traditional Vranac wine. This full-bodied red goes beautifully with Montenegrin delicacies such as Njeguši prosciutto, local cheeses or Buzara, a coastal seafood specialty featuring fresh prawns or mussels in a garlicky red or white wine sauce. You can sample these local flavours at Luštica Bay’s first national cuisine restaurant, Luča, in Piazza Centrale. Be sure to finish the evening with a sip of rakija, a potent but restorative brandy that’s known for encouraging conviviality and conversation. That warm feeling… is it the rakija, or just the satisfying effect of quality time spent in Luštica Bay?

A PLACE TO BELONG

Ana Divac and her husband, Vlade (World Championship winner and former NBA star) bought a summer home in Luštica Bay several years ago. She’s now opened the Luštica Beauty Bar in Centrale, a unisex beauty studio where people emerge looking transformed – and feeling confident.

“Luštica Bay is a way of life,” says Ana. “Our family and friends from around the world join us here at our summer retreat, and our neighbours have become cherished friends.”

The couple embrace the seaside lifestyle. Vlade likes to meet friends for morning coffee by the marina, then go sailing or join a friendly outdoor chess match.

“Meanwhile, my greatest joy is beach time,” says Ana with a smile. Luckily the private beaches and sea lounges provide blissfully peaceful days beside the crystal-clear waters.

“I also enjoy the varied cuisine and range of restaurants, and of course, the shopping,” says Ana. “I just noticed one thing missing… luxurious beauty treatments.” Her entrepreneurial instincts have been proven correct, with the warm response to Luštica Beauty Bar’s flawless mani/ pedis, expert haircuts and balayage, and rejuvenating skin treatments, including cutting-edge technology such as mesotherapy, Oxygen and much more.
