The Hublot Novelties of 2021: Big Bang
BIG BANG SANG BLEU II : A TRIO IN CERAMIC
Three new creations for their collaboration: Hublot and Sang Bleu are relighting their creative flame to produce a colourful new trio. The new Big Bang Sang Bleu II Ceramic watch will now be available in blue, grey and white. Adding to their technical achievement of having successfully created perfectly and evenly coloured ceramic, Hublot unveils a watch architecture that continues to defy tradition. With its sharp angles, its sculptural case, its multiple facets as if cut in diamond, the Big Bang Sang Bleu II designed by Maxime Plescia-Buchi and Hublot has the ability to amaze and astound. Combining the creativity of the tattoo artist with the technical expertise of the Nyon-based manufacture, the piece displays a radical, complex design, which demands a closer look in order to fully appreciate its multidimensional appearance. The case, bezel, case middle, strap and dial have been constructed with their own geometry and, at the same time, they come together with a seamless fluidity.
Each of these new Big Bang Sang Bleu II will be available as a limited edition of 200 pieces. They all share a 45-mm case made entirely from high-tech ceramic, housing the UNICO Manufacture self-winding chronograph. Entirely developed in-house by Hublot’s engineers and watchmakers, comprising 330 components and equipped with a flyback function, this model offers a 3-day power reserve. Each piece is equipped with its corresponding rubber strap, featuring the One Click system which enables it to be changed instantly with no need for any tools.
BIG BANG INTEGRAL TOURBILLON FULL SAPPHIRE: A FEAT OF PURE SAPPHIRE
It is true that sometimes less is more – perhaps a lot more. With the Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire, Hublot has taken its Art of Fusion to its ultimate conclusion. A new integral bracelet and case custom-made from sapphire: this feat affirms yet again the technical proficiency and the exceptional expertise that Hublot has acquired in the working of sapphire.
For some, this will seem a natural development. For others, it will be a total disconnect. The final result is a little of each. The Big Bang Integral Tourbillon Full Sapphire is the fruit of a long tradition. It is rooted in 2016, and the Big Bang Unico Sapphire, the first sapphire watch. With this piece, Hublot translated the expertise it had developed in machining very hard materials to create an exceptional series of sapphire watches. Today, Hublot is pushing these boundaries even further: the first Big Bang with an integrated case and bracelet, both of which are made from sapphire. A natural (r)evolution and a highly technical feat in equal measure.
BIG BANG MP-11 MAGIC GOLD & BLUE SAPPHIRE: TWO NEW CUTTING-EDGE CASES FOR A UNIQUE ENGINE-INSPIRED MOVEMENT
Hublot reasserts its unrivalled expertise in cutting-edge materials by housing its MP-11 manufacture calibre in two new exclusive cases, showcasing its scratch-resistant Magic Gold alloy and the transparency of its high-tech synthesis technology Blue Sapphire. The brand is offering enthusiasts two new versions of its Big Bang MP-11 watch, an instrument with a spectacular look which reveals its seven in-line barrels – which guarantee an unrivalled power reserve of 14 days – through the open dial.
“By marrying its famous MP-11 manufacture movement, characterised by its atypical and highly visual construction, with two new materials developed by our engineers – Magic Gold and Blue Sapphire –, Hublot once again brilliantly illustrates its “Art of Fusion”. The art of being avant-garde, different and unique.” -Ricardo Guadalupe, HUBLOT CEO.
The master of fusion, Hublot has always stood out by seeking to achieve perfect alliances between movements and cases, between the mechanical hearts of its watches and their settings on the wrist. In the visionary spirit of the brand, the unorthodox concept of the MP-11 calibre, developed and manufactured entirely in Hublot’s workshops, must therefore forge an alliance with brand new cases distinguished by their unique design and innovative materials. This challenge has already been brilliantly met in the Big Bang MP-11 in ultra-light 3D carbon, using King Gold alloy paired with a 3D carbon bezel, in transparent sapphire, in high-tech Red Magic ceramic and most recently in green SAXEM, which is a new composite rivalling the most beautiful emeralds in colour and matching diamonds in its hardness. Today, Hublot’s story of the MP-11 calibre continues with the unveiling of two new models that are sure to make their mark.
BIG BANG TOURBILLON AUTOMATIC ORANGE SAPPHIRE: THE ART OF FUSION REACHES A NEW LEVEL WITH A DOUBLE ENDEAVOUR AT THE LIMITS OF POSSIBILITY
Transparent, black, yellow, blue, red – Hublot has mastered the creation and machining of sapphires with exclusive shades for its watchcases. With the new Big Bang Tourbillon Automatic Orange Sapphire, the brand has once again achieved a world first by adding a completely new colour to its palette of through-tinted sapphires. This unprecedented technical and aesthetic feat is combined with an entirely new tourbillon movement not only equipped with self-winding (a rarity for a tourbillon), but also with a reinvented architecture with its micro-rotor visible on the dial side and three sapphire bridges. A new fusion of daring and transparency, in a limited edition of 50 pieces.
“In line with its winning spirit, Hublot has produced a new exceptional innovation by unveiling the world’s very first case in orange sapphire. Our manufacture has also reaffirmed its watchmaking expertise by unveiling a new automatic tourbillon calibre, entirely designed and manufactured in-house, and on which the spectacular visible dial side architecture underscores the innovative design of the watch. The “Art of Fusion” in all its glory according to Hublot.” – Ricardo Guadalupe, HUBLOT CEO.
