The Cultural Epicenter of the Region: The Blue Hall of Sava Center

Among the numerous cultural events across the region this summer, the news that has prevailed all of them is the re-opening of the reconstructed Blue Hall of Sava Center on 3nd Septembar of 2024! This means that the most representative and prestigious hall is ready to host the biggest events in the fields of culture and congress tourism, as well as the most important business gatherings. The calendar of cultural events is already filled and brimming with significant international musical and theatrical events and concerts This autumn and winter at Sava Center will be unforgettable, so don’t miss out on being part of the history of the newly reconstructed Blue Hall.

Opera & Ballet nights will be the first events after the official reopening of Sava Centre, with two evenings to remember for the carefully selected program that will bring to Belgrade world famous stars and some of the most eminent artists from the opera and ballet scenes.

Immediately after the grand opening, on September 6, a true opera spectacle will take place on the grand stage of the Blue Hall with the performance of Verdi’s “Aida,” featuring over three hundred participants on stage, rich scenography, and guest performances by tenor Ivan Gyngayov, tenor of the Mariinsky Theatre from St. Petersburg, and soprano Lidija Svetozareva from Moscow’s Helikon Opera. They will make a debut on Blue Hall stage accompanied by the choir, orchestra, ballet, and soloists of the Opera of the Serbian National Theatre from Novi Sad.

Just a day later, the world-renowned ballet artist Sergei Polunin will perform at Sava Center, presenting the hit ballet show “Rasputin.”

From September 27 to 29, the stage will be occupied by five of the world’s most talented illusionists, performing in the spectacular show “C’est la Magie.” Legendary masters of illusion Luis de Matos, Darcy Oake, James More, Yu Ho-Jin, and Enzo Weyne will break the boundaries between imagination and reality, giving Serbian illusion enthusiasts the opportunity to see and even participate in new and daring performances.

On October 1, the renowned BEMUS festival will be opened with a concert by the most famous tenor of today, Jonas Kaufmann! The star of the world’s greatest opera stages, from the Metropolitan Opera to the Royal Opera House and the Vienna State Opera, will illuminate the stage of the Blue Hall of Sava Center on October 1 at 8 PM, marking the beginning of our most significant festival of artistic music. Opera enthusiasts and fans of film music will enjoy the most beautiful tenor arias and film music hits. Jonas Kaufmann will be accompanied by conductor Jochen Rieder and the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra.

On the 12th of October, the audience can expect another true classical music spectacle! After seventeen years, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from London returns to our region.

 At the very end of October, one of the biggest stars of the world music scene, Yasmin Levy, will perform, accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of Radio Television of Serbia. Recognized as the voice of all Mediterranean cultures, Yasmin Levy has conquered the world with songs in Spanish and Ladino, and her unique artistic imprint and voice have been introduced to the world through songs like “Una Noche Mas,” “Alegria,” “Adio Kerida”… In her songs, with her voice and lyrics, she celebrates life and love, as well as pain and sorrow, with a pronounced sensitivity that finds its way to the hearts of all present at her concerts.

As part of their world tour, the musical-theatrical show STOMP will perform on the stage of Sava Centre from the 1st to the 3rd of November 2024. The British theatre sensation, which has become a true global phenomenon, will present an infectious blend of rhythm, dance, theatre, and comedy with exciting music inspired by the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

On the first Friday in November, November 7, 2024, the audience can expect an International Concert of Film Music, featuring an orchestra conducted by the famous Marcello Rota, an Italian who celebrates the work of renowned film music composers Ennio Morricone and Nino Rota with his gift and talent. The concert program focuses on the most important stages of the careers of the two composers, from iconic songs of the sixties to melodies written for legendary Hollywood films, including the films of Sergio Leone. Don’t miss the chance to hear your favorite music from iconic films like “The Godfather,” “Once Upon a Time in America,” “The Professional”! All of this accompanied by a large orchestra that brings a powerful emotional charge and creates an unforgettable experience for the audience.

The greatest fado diva of today, Mariza, will perform for the audience at Sava Center on December 5, presenting her biggest hits and guaranteeing an unforgettable musical experience. Mariza began her impressive career twenty years ago, evolving from a local sensation in Lisbon to a world-renowned star. Her first album, “Fado em Mim,” released in 2001, quickly conquered the international scene, and she soon became a recognizable name on the most prestigious stages worldwide, including Paris’s Olympia, London’s Royal Festival Hall, and New York’s Carnegie Hall.

Tickets for all events are already on sale through Efinity, Ticket Vision, and DD Tickets sales systems, as well as at sales points across the country and region. It is no secret that the reopening of the Blue Hall will also see the launch of ticket sales points for all events within the Sava Centre itself.
